ICCVAM — the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods — is a permanent NIEHS committee, established in 2000, made up of representatives from U.S. federal regulatory and research agencies. 18 It is tasked with helping reduce, refine, or replace the use of animals in testing where feasible. 19 Its scientific support center now sits inside ORIVA.
