ECHA developed RAAF as an internal framework for consistent, structured assessment of grouping and Read-Across approaches under REACH, leading to a conclusion about whether a read-across is scientifically acceptable. 37 It is not a how-to manual but a structured evaluative rubric. RAAF defines six scenario-specific approaches—two analogue-based and four category-based—and the critical scientific elements that a valid Read-Across must address. 38
