Risk varies depending on exposure to the chemical, 1 and is commonly written as Hazard × Exposure = Risk. 1 The practical upshot: even if something is highly hazardous, if you are never exposed to enough of it, you have little to no risk — and we can reduce risk by reducing exposure. 2 This is the quantity that NGRA ultimately estimates.
